Merlin (digital teaching and learning media)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Merlin ( Me serving r esources for L ernen i n N iedersachsen) is the media catalog of the State of Lower Saxony , the multimedia and didactic teaching and learning media for classroom use at schools in Lower Saxony offers for download.

The media were acquired by the state of Lower Saxony in cooperation with the districts as part of the economic stimulus package II and have an extensive license that enables problem-free use in lessons. While school media publishers otherwise only allow very limited use in direct teaching contexts, it is z. B. allows films from the Merlin catalog to be edited by students.

The schools in Lower Saxony have received access data from the Ministry of Culture with which the media can be downloaded from the Lower Saxony Education Server (NiBiS) or accessed (streamed) online.

In the meantime (since summer 2013) there have been some restrictions on the film offer to certain districts. The reason for this is the acquisition of licenses: only Lower Saxony districts that contribute to the license costs are given access to the media that have been purchased.
