Mesrop Mashtots Monument (2014)

The Mesrop Mashtots Monument is a monument in the Armenian capital of Yerevan and is located in front of the main entrance to the Matenadaran State Library of Ancient Armenian Literature and Writings.

The monument was created in connection with the establishment of the State Library in 1962 and is dedicated to Saint Mesrop Mashtots , the developer of the Armenian alphabet . The monument shows the saint as an elderly man and teacher with Koriwn, one of his young students, and an indicated plaque with the characters of the Armenian alphabet.
