Metamerism

Metamerism (Gr. Meta - "after, middle below" and meros - "part", i.e. "consisting of several parts") stands for:

  • Metamerism (biology) , form of symmetry of living beings in which similar elements are lined up one behind the other (segmentation of animals)
  • Metamerism (color theory) , the effect that pairs of color samples have the same color stimulus under one type of light, but can be differentiated under another type of light
  • Metamerism (philosophy) , in philosophy and esotericism
