Military Professional Resources Incorporated ( MPRI ) is a private security and military company founded in 1987 by eight former senior officers of the United States Armed Forces . The company is based in Alexandria, Virginia (USA) . The MPRI provides its experience and assistance primarily to the United States Department of Defense . According to its own statements, it offers a wide range of international services, in some cases for the US government, in other cases directly for other governments under license from the US State Department. It is said that she has now employed more four-star generals than the United States Department of Defense . The annual budget is over $ 100 million. The MPRI is said to have around 340 former US generals in its file and to have the 22 best of them under contract. They are said to receive about double to triple their previous state pay, plus pension benefits and MPRI shares, while their Pentagon pensions continue to run.

MPRI officially denied the rumor that it had trained Croatian combat units prior to the start of the Operation Oluja military operation . The then Ambassador of the United States to Croatia, Peter W. Galbraith , publicly denied these rumors on several occasions. In addition, he limited MPRI's interference to merely helping with budget planning and holding human rights seminars in order to prevent possible war crimes.

In July 2000 the listed company L-3 Communications took over MPRI. L3 Communications is one of the ten companies that have made the most money in Iraq since 2003 , according to the consulting firm Eagle Eye in 2007.

L-3 has been called MPRI Engility since July 18, 2012 .
