The Mitteilungen der Deutschen Orient-Gesellschaft zu Berlin (MDOG) is a scientific journal in the field of Near Eastern archeology and ancient oriental studies .

The communications of the German Orient Society in Berlin is the official organ of the German Orient Society (DOG). It publishes reports on excavations and their evaluation that are carried out and funded by the society. In addition to the predominant archaeological reports, the articles also deal with articles on philological, historical, religious and cultural issues in the ancient Near Eastern region. There are also obituaries and the annual report of the board (the DOG) for the last year of the association. This is where the Assur project is carried out through meetings of the board of directors, general meetings and board elections, DOG publications, DOG exhibitions and reports on donations received by the society. In addition, the MDOG serves as a platform for other communications from society, for example in connection with the tense situation since the Third Gulf War about the work of Iraqi archeology and the looting of the Mesopotamian heritage in the course of the war and the predatory excavations that have since spread almost unhindered.
