MixMeister is music software specially tailored for the production of DJ mixes . The functions essential for this task are therefore easily accessible, whereas other functions that are part of the basic function in conventional production software are missing. The software has been continuously developed since 2000.
Working principle
The essential convenience function is that two songs can be linked in time. An anchor is placed in both songs, by means of which the songs align with each other. This means that a transition is retained even if the tempo of one of the songs is changed and songs are removed or added to the playlist.
Among the outstanding capabilities of MixMeister one automatic beat matching , the heavy rhythm of many musical styles a common DJ technique represents and is considered a demanding task that requires a lot of practice.
variants
The basic version MixMeister Express contains only the most important functions. MixMeister Studio contains the full range of functions and offers an interface for VST plug-ins and a collection of sound effects. Furthermore, all functions can be controlled via midi controllers. In contrast to the other variants, MixMeister Fusion is geared towards live DJing. A tailor-made hardware controller rounds off the concept.
The demo versions are fully functional. The restriction is the regular playing of a reminder message.
