Miyatanzipa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Miyatanzipa ( Hittite "growth genius ") is a Hittite vegetation deity of low rank. She often appears together with other vegetation deities, especially Telipinu , with the grain goddess Ḫalki or Immarni .

In a myth, the mother goddess Ḫannaḫanna had three springs spring up. A vine climbed over one of them, the other had a bowl, and the third had a fire burning. Miyatanzipa sat down first under the vine. She is also one of the deities who, according to mythology, gathered under the hawthorn bush to perform the soothing ritual for the enraged Telipinu.
