Modern Times was the ORF's weekly television magazine on technology, science and health. Innovations and discoveries were introduced to television viewers and presented in a vivid way.

The series was moderated in the late 1990s by then ORF employee and later SPÖ politician Josef Broukal . Later, two types of Modern Times alternated weekly:

• Modern Times: The Science Magazine
• Modern Times Health: The Health Magazine

In January 2006, the format was discontinued in favor of the new ORF science program Newton - News from the world of science .
