Monitur ( Latin monere = to remember, to admonish) is a technical term

  • from the forwarding business, the complaints that arise during the port handling of goods. They are usually recorded by the tally and noted in the quay receipt . The delivered goods are only loaded onto the ocean-going vessel when the shipper has been given the opportunity to remedy the defect. In the case of land transport, the monitur is entered in the consignment note.
  • from the Austrian legal language and describes the improvement of the verdict by the jury .
