Monunios

Monunios was in the 2nd century BC. A king of the Dardaner . The dates of his life and the exact duration of his reign are unknown. He ruled probably since about 180 BC. Over Dardania, 175 war against the Bastarner . A little later he married his daughter Etuta (or Etleua) to the Illyrian king Genthios and concluded an alliance with him and the Macedonians against Rome. It is uncertain whether he was able to assert himself as ruler after the defeat of this coalition (167). The coins minted by Monunios indicate that he also ruled the city of Dyrrachion on the Adriatic for a time.

A ruler of the same name was around 280 BC. King of the Dardans.

In the Army History Museum in Vienna there is a helmet with the inscription "Monunios".
