Mosque traffic light

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A mosque traffic light is a standing lamp or a lamp made of glass or ceramic suspended from the ceiling for artificial lighting of a mosque .

Mosque lights provide the lighting required for morning, evening and night prayers in Islamic houses of worship. These are mostly vase-shaped lights hanging from the ceiling. The prohibition of the pictorial representation of living beings, in order to avoid the worship of creatures, contributed to the fact that they were often made as very artistically designed lights.
