Mouvement des Entreprises de France
The Mouvement des entreprises de France ( MEDEF ) is the largest employers' association in France . The association, founded in 1998, replaced the Conseil national du patronat Français ( CNPF ), founded in 1946.
The association has more than 750,000 companies, 90 percent of which are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 50 employees. MEDEF advocates the interests of companies at local and regional level as well as within the framework of the French state and at EU level.
Every year MEDEF International organizes delegations of French business leaders who travel to selected countries, especially developing countries, with specific projects . MEDEF advocates the concept of sustainable development and tries to make companies understand that competence in relation to environmental protection can also become a competitive advantage .
Geoffrey Roux de Bezieux has been President of the Association since July 2018.
