Mulle
Mulle is the name of various, not closely related mammal species. What they all have in common is a predominantly underground, cave-digging way of life, similar to that of moles .
- Bag mole (Notoryctes) , a genus of marsupials with two species in Australia .
- Goldmulle (Chrysochloridae) , a family within the Tenrekartigen with ten genera and 21 species. Occurrence in Africa, south of the Sahara. More than half of the species endemic to South Africa .
- Two genera within the sand burial family in sub-Saharan Africa:
- Gray mull (Fukomys) with, depending on the source, ten to fourteen species.
- Blessmulle (Georhychus) with the species Cape Blessmull (Georhychus capensis)
- Naked mole rat (Heterocephalus glaber) , the only species in the genus Heterocephalus . Occurrence in East Africa.
- Two types of armadillos in South America :
- Belt gullet (Chlamyphorus truncatus)
- Burmeister girdle gullet (Calyptophractus retusus)
