Munabbih (Yemen)
Munabbih is the name of a Yemeni tribe and district ( Arabic مديرية منبه, DMG mudiriyyat Munabbih ) that this tribe inhabits in Sa'da governorate . The area is very difficult to get to. The majority of the population is subsistence farming . They are more inclined to family autonomy than the population of neighboring districts, e.g. B. the population of the Razih district . In 2003, 51,823 inhabitants were counted. This number is likely to have increased due to the riot of Operation Scorched Earth (عملية الأرض المحروقة) have changed a lot.
Architectural style
The houses are built from dry-laid, roughly hewn slate. White decorative stones are used to decorate the building. The possibility of defense is an important building requirement in this area. Therefore the houses are built like a castle. Larger windows are only available on the upper floors, while narrow loopholes and ventilation slots are made on the ground floor.
