Murašû

Murašû is the name of a noble family of traders from Nippur , whose business activities are attested from the reigns of Artaxerxes I and Darius II . According to their extensive archive , the family made some wealth through agricultural businesses, especially lease agreements, and credit trading. In this respect, it is comparable to the Babylonian Egibi family .
