Murda Sang

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Murda Sang is an archaeological site. It is a prehistoric Bronze Age settlement, it is located on the Kanrach River in Baluchistan . The actual place, with an almost urban character, was about 6 hectares in size, with loose buildings taking up about 35 hectares in the vicinity. Remains of stoves could be observed here. To the north of Murda Sang, there are archaeological evidence of two dams that allowed for artificial irrigation of nearby fields. Next to the place, on a higher hill, was a fortress that monitored the facility. During excavations in 1998, two layers with different phases were found. The place was from about 3000 to 2600 BC. Already inhabited once. The second layer belongs to the later Kulli culture (around 2500 to 1900 BC). The houses had stone foundations; Mud bricks have also been used. Few traces of settlement date from more recent, historical times.
