The list of manufacturing companies in Hamburg is a sub-article of the Museum of Hamburg History and relates to the exhibition Clocking the Harbor . It lists well-known companies and historical brands from the chemical and mineral oil industry , shipbuilding and mechanical engineering , aircraft construction and electrical engineering, as well as numerous specialty trades that were important in the city's history . They are an example of the good conditions that the Port of Hamburg created for the processing of imported raw materials and thus favored the development of manufactories and factories.
