Mutation (media)
In the printing sector, mutation is the exchange of one or more pages of a newspaper edition.
This is necessary if newspaper articles have to be rewritten because of important new events during the printing process or if different versions of a newspaper are generally planned: for example, for separate evening and morning editions or regionally different editions. With regional editions, the editors can better cater to the interests of different groups of readers, the print shop saves printing and paper costs, and advertisers can avoid wastage.
Technically speaking, the mutation z. B. exchanged some printing plates in the printing machine.
