My princess boy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My Princess Boy (in German: “Mein Prinzessinnenjunge” - the book is not yet available as a translation) is an American picture book by Cheryl Kilodavis with illustrations by Suzanne DeSimone . Kilodavis first self-published the book. On December 21, 2010, Simon & Schuster published a new issue in their Aladdin division.

Cheryl Kilodavis wrote the book about her son Dyson and her family. Dyson's self-expression does not conform to stereotypical gender roles . One of his ways of expressing this is by wearing dresses that are meant for girls.

Kilodavis named her book after the key experience when Dyson explained to her: "I am a princess boy."
