Mystery in Space

Mystery in Space (dt. "Mystery in Space") is the title of a science fiction - comic book series , the 1951 to 1966, and 1980 and 1981 with the US publisher DC Comics published.

Creation and publication

The series reached 117 issues, the first 110 of which were published between 1951 and 1966. After a temporary suspension of the series, which lasted almost fourteen years, it was resumed in 1980 following the old numbering with issue # 111, but finally discontinued after only 7 issues with number # 117. In 2006 the series was again briefly revived in the form of an eight-part mini-series designed by Jim Starlin (author) and Shane Davis (draftsman).

The artists who worked on the series include the illustrators Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson , as well as the authors John Broome and Gardner Fox .

"Mystery in Space" presented a colorful selection of science fiction stories in each issue. Over the years, in the anthology style, various series that had nothing to do with each other in terms of content were gathered between the cover pages of "Mystery in Space".

Prices

The series won several awards, including the Alley Award for Best Book-Length Story in 1962 (for the story "The Planet That Came to a Standstill!" In issue # 75 by Gardner Fox and Carmine Infantino ) and the 1963 "Alley Award for Comic Displaying Best Interior Color Work".
