NPO Almas ( Russian: Научно-производственное объединение “Алмаз” , Almas Scientific Production Association) was a Russian defense and electronics company. A previous name was KB-1 . From 1995 the company was transformed into a public limited company (OAO).

The company merged with the Antei group in 2002 to form Almas-Antei . In 1991 it had 55,000 employees, including 7,000 engineers . It belonged to the Ministry of the Radio Industry , but it was planned around 1997 to transfer the company to a partial privatization. The plan stipulated that 65% of the shares should belong to the state and 35% to the employees. The government would have had the opportunity to sell a maximum of a third of its shares to other investors.

Products

The company was primarily active in the electronics sector, producing printed circuit boards , integrated circuits, and military electronics and air defense systems .
