Night school
The night school is a type of school where lessons are only given at night. This happens or happened because the students have to work during the day and often until late at night.
This form of teaching is known from the American southern states, where slave children learned to read and write at night, which was actually forbidden. However, the example of the American educator Lily Ann Granderson , who was herself a slave and ran such a night school, showed that while the laws in the southern states forbade whites and freed slaves to teach slaves, it was not forbidden to teach slaves themselves. to teach.
For similar reasons of time, z. B. in India operated night schools to give the children a minimum of school education.
The night school differs from the evening school of adult education in that, after work, adults try to gain further qualifications, especially in the evening hours.
