A Naga belt is a protective weapon from India.

description

The Naga belt is used by the Naga ethnic group in India. It serves as protection against injuries to the lower abdomen and internal organs. The belt consists of spathe , the flower sheaths of various plants from the group of monocot plants , as well as of dried sugar cane , which is split for processing. To decorate the white seeds are Job's Tears (Coix lacryma-jobi) is used.

The appearance of the belts can be very different, because each group of Naga makes this belt according to their own ideas. The most common color of Naga belts is red. However, other colors such as white or black are also used. It also serves as a class definition to show the difference between civilians and warriors .
