As Nagel pointed cross in the can Heraldry each cross are referred to, if at least the lower cross arm is pointed at the arm end or already from the lower edge of the intersection of cross arms shown. Another name is a cross or cross . One of the designations should be used in the description of the coat of arms of the basic shape of the cross in order to make this deviation of a heraldic cross recognizable. Occasionally the three other cross arms are designed like the foot arm.

In the large Prussian coat of arms , a black nailed cross for the Principality of Verden is set in silver on field 38 .
