description

The relatively small temple has a square floor plan, four similarly designed sides and a stupa to top it off. Parts of the stucco building decoration have been preserved on the outer walls.
The interior, with its cross-shaped floor plan, contains valuable paintings from the time the temple was built; Among other things, the eight main scenes from the life of Buddha, animal mythical creatures from the army of the Mara and genre scenes such as “the exodus of the king” or “procession of women” are shown. There are also four large compositions with a seated Buddha, framed by the silhouette of a typical Pagan temple and surrounded by nats and human figures.
