Birth balance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The birth balance ("natural population development") is the number of live births minus the number of deaths in a specific area over a specified period. It is one of the measures of demography . If the number of births outweighs the number of deaths, there is a birth surplus , i.e. a positive natural population development, in the opposite case there is a death surplus .

From the combination of the birth balance and the migration balance , which z. B. is collected in the context of a census , a statement can be made about population development .
