The National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) was a medical research institution in London and was founded in 1913 by the Medical Research Council .

The institute offered PhD programs in the fields of genetics , developmental biology , immunobiology , neurobiology and structural biology . In 2015/2016 the NIMR moved from Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet , where it had been located since 1950 in a building designed by Ormrod Maxwell Ayrton , to the newly built Francis Crick Institute , into which it was then incorporated.
