Nationalist Party (Ghana)
The Nationalist Party ( NP ) was a political party in the former British colony of Gold Coast , now Ghana .

The party was founded by Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey in 1954, who left the Ghana Congress Party after falling out with Kofi Abrefa Busia .
The Nationalist Party had a local focus in Accra .
After the split, both parties were unable to prevail against the political supremacy of the Convention People's Party (CPP) of Kwame Nkrumah , who later became the first president of Ghana, and gain political power.
