Natural monument oak and red beech

The natural monument oak and red beech is located on the Lieberg west of Scharfenberg in the city of Brilon . In 2008, the trees were designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Brilon plateau landscape plan . The natural monument is located in the nature reserve Offenlandkomplex Rixen / Scharfenberg . According to the landscape plan, the beech represents a unique landscape element. This consists of several strong trunks, which are driven out of a stick. The trunk circumference is about 1.50 m. The trunk of the oak has a circumference of about 1 m. The beech and the oak have grown together.
