Nominal rescue amount
Nominal rescue height and nominal radius are key figures for aerial rescue systems of the fire service , such as turntable ladders , articulated and telescopic masts .
The nominal rescue height is the vertical distance in meters from the floor of the turntable ladder cage or the top rung of the ladder to the floor.
The nominal radius is measured on turntable ladders. It describes the horizontal distance from the outer edge of the vehicle (outermost point of the support) to the perpendicular of the top rung or to the perpendicular of the outer edge of the basket floor. The ladder is extended to the nominal rescue height.
Nominal extension and nominal rescue height are measured without loading the ladder or the telescopic mast.
