history

Until the church is planted

Neuburg was first mentioned in a document in 1209. The reign of Neuburg an der Kammel belonged to the margraviate of Burgau in Upper Austria . The fiefdom went to the following noble families: Weißenhorn-Neuffen (1209–1347), Ellerbach (1348–1458), Rechberg zu Hohenrechberg (1460–1524) and Vöhlin v. Frickenhausen (1524-1816); In 1347 Neuburg was granted town charter, but in the 15th century it sank again to the market. Emperor Friedrich III. awarded the market coat of arms in 1491 at the request of Ulrich von Rechberg zu Hohenrechberg . With the Rhine Confederation Act 1806, the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . Neuburg had market rights with its own rights.
