The house with the postal address Neuer Markt 14 is a building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on the Neuer Markt .

The house was built in 1741 by a Major Schmidt. In 1854 it was rebuilt. After a few changes of ownership, it was run as the “König von Preussen” hotel in the 1930s. After the Second World War, the four- and -a- half -storey, five-axis building served as the headquarters of the health and social welfare office. In the years 2012 to 2013 the house was completely renovated.

A granite memorial stone is set in the sidewalk in front of the house , commemorating the Papen fire thom Sunde in 1407. The memorial stone is entered on the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 603.

The house is located in the core area of ​​the city ​​area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”.
