Nicolas William Wähling (born August 24, 1997 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German - English football player . The winger is under contract with SSV Jahn Regensburg .

Career

Wähling grew up in Ludwigsburg and was trained at the Karlsruhe district club FC Neureut . After five years in the junior team of Karlsruher SC , with whose U19 he lost the final of the German championship against FC Schalke 04 in the 2014/15 season , he moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for the U14 . Here the Württemberger spent his last A-youth year under the later Bundesliga coach Julian Nagelsmann . The winger also reached the final for the championship title with TSG , which this time was lost to Borussia Dortmund in front of 15,000 spectators .

From summer 2016 Wähling was in the squad of the Hoffenheim regional league team for three seasons ; as a regular player he delivered his best performance for the team with thirteen points in his final year. In 2017 he was once in the professional squad for the Europa League , a year later on matchday 24 in the Bundesliga team, but both times he was not used by his youth coach Nagelsmann.

For the second division season 2019/20 , SSV Jahn Regensburg signed the offensive player and provided him with a contract valid until June 2022. His first assignment was for the club's second team in the Bayern League .

Private

Nicolas is the son of a German and an Englishwoman. Through his mother, he also holds English citizenship and grew up bilingually . He has four brothers, the eldest, Alexander , played for 1. FSV Mainz 05 II in the 3rd division , but had to end his career at a young age and has been working as a youth coach ever since. The three younger brothers are all still active in the junior sector.
