No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)
No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young) is a song by the British rock band Queen , which was recorded by the remaining 3 members in 1997 after the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury (1991). The song is on the Queen Rocks album .
background
Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor share the lead vocals. The song composed by May pays homage to Freddie Mercury. May had actually written it for his solo album Another World , but when Roger Taylor heard the demo version of the song, he suggested making it a Queen song.
No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young), which also appeared on the album Greatest Hits III , was the last public appearance of bassist John Deacon , who withdrew into private life after its release.
