Emergency station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An emergency station in animal welfare is a place of accommodation for animals in need, similar to an animal shelter , only that it is managed and financed by a private person and is not supported by the state. As a rule, these stations do not belong to any association. Unlike a foster home that acts for an association, the manager acts independently.

An emergency station requires a permit according to Section 11 TierSchG, which must be obtained from the responsible veterinary office. In order to obtain this approval, one must present a certificate of competence, which can be obtained in various ways; this must also be requested from the responsible office.
