Numerus currens

Numerus Currens (Latin for "consecutive number") or mechanical arrangement refers to a method of storage especially in library magazines and archives , in which the media are numbered and arranged consecutively in the order in which they are received. As a rule, the format is separated.

variants

There are different variants and mixed forms with installation systems.

  • Numerus currens in specialist groups: It is set up systematically and within the system departments upon receipt.
  • Numerus currens according to years: A new constellation group is started for each year of acquisition or publication.
