Compulsory health insurance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Compulsory health insurance (coll .: basic insurance ) is the name given to a package of insurance benefits in Switzerland , which according to the Federal Law on Health Insurance (KVG) must be offered to every person by every insurance provider without a selection.

The benefits of the compulsory health insurance are identical for all insured persons nationwide and cover the areas of illness, accident and maternity. The insurance premiums are the same for men and women. However, employees who work at least 8 hours a week can exclude the risk of accidents, which leads to a lower premium.

Compulsory health insurance can be joined at any age and without reservation.
