Olia Berger

Olia Berger (born June 30, 1980 in Canada ) is a former Canadian judoka .

Olia Berger won a bronze heavyweight medal at the Maccabiade in 1997 . In 1999 she was the Pan American Junior Champion. In 2000, Olia Berger won her first Canadian championship title and finished second in the Pan American Championships. In 2001 and 2002 she was also Canadian champion. In 2002 she won a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships. In 2003 she reached the final of the Pan American Championships as in 2000, but there she was defeated by the Mexican Vanessa Zambotti . At the Pan American Games in 2003, she won a bronze medal.

In 2004 Berger won her fourth Canadian championship. In 2005 she won two bronze medals at the Pan American Championships, in addition to a third place in the heavyweight division, she also reached the podium in the open class. In 2007 and 2008 she was Canadian champion twice. She no longer won international medals.

Olia Berger is the daughter of Mark Berger , who won a bronze medal for Canada at the 1984 Summer Olympics .
