Orodes IV.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Orodes IV was a king in Elymais who is known so far only from his coins, which can probably be dated to the second half of the second century AD. They bear the Aramaic legend King Orodes on the obverse and show the ruler's head in profile looking to the left or in front view. On the back there is a picture of a woman with the legend Ulfan . The goddess Artemis appears on other coins . Since all rulers of the second century AD in Elymais bore the name Orodes , the exact number of rulers is highly disputed.
