Orville O. Dull
Orville "Bunny" Oscar Dull (born April 25, 1888 in Lima , Ohio , † December 29, 1978 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American assistant director , film director and film producer who won the Oscar for best documentary film at the 1949 Academy Awards received.
Life
Orville O. Dull was assistant director on the films Daddy's Gone A-Hunting (1925) and The Dixie Merchant (1926) and was at the Oscars in 1934 for the Oscar for best director assistant nominated. From the mid-1920s he worked as a director himself and produced some of his mostly short films himself. For the documentary he produced The Secret Land (1948), he received the Oscar for best documentary film at the 1949 Academy Awards. One of the most famous films he produced was When Ladies Meet (1941) by Robert Z. Leonard .
