Eastern Armenia or Caucasian Armenia is a historical name for the part of the territory of Ottoman Armenia and Persian Armenia , which was annexed to the Russian Empire after the Russian-Ottoman War from 1828 to 1829 , in contrast to Western Armenia , which also belonged to the Ottoman Empire after 1829 .

It is a geographical term still used today in historical and art-historical literature. In a historical context, the term Russian-Armenia is also used for the time of belonging to Russia .
