Päivi Tolppanen

Anette Päivi Kristiina Tolppanen (* 1977 ) is a Finnish goalball player and is considered one of the best goalball players in the world.

Tolppanen discovered goalball at the age of 13. January 1991 she took part in her first competition. A year later, in January 1992, she was accepted into the Finnish women's goalball team. At the European Championships in 1997, Tolppanen won her first gold medal. Further gold medals followed at the 1998 World Cup in Madrid and the 1999 European Championship. In 2000 and 2004 , she took part in the Paralympic Games , but could only achieve fourth place with her team. At the 2001 European Championships she achieved silver.

In addition to her athletic career, Tolppanen works as a physiotherapist .
