PTSD Symptom Scale

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PTSD Symptom Scale ( PSS-SR ) is a self-assessment questionnaire consisting of 17 questions to record symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder . In the English version, the test person should describe how often they suffer from symptoms that can occur in connection with PTSD. There are three response categories from 0 (never or once) to 3 (almost always or several times a week). The answers are added up to the following three subscales:

  • Reliving (4 questions)
  • Avoidance (7 questions)
  • Overexcitation (6 questions)

In addition, all answers can be added up to a total value.

It is believed that a value greater than 13 is likely to indicate PTSD if all questions have been answered.
