Palais Kutscherfeld
The Palais Kutscherfeld or Palais Esterházy is a palace on the main square on the corner of Sedlárska ulica ( Sattlergasse ) in the old town of Bratislava .
history
The Palais Kutscherfeld was built in 1762 in rococo style in place of three older houses. The owner was Leopold von Kutscherfeld . The palace was later bought by the Esterházy family. One of the most famous guests of the house was the Russian pianist Anton Rubinstein , who lived here in 1847. It is possible that he composed one of his most famous pieces here, the melody in F (from opus 3). Count József Antal Vince Hubert Esterházy de Galántha was born in the palace on January 22, 1911.
present
Today the palace houses the French embassy and the French cultural institute.
