Paltauf spot

Paltauf spots - named after Arnold Paltauf - are postmortem occurring corpse spots in people by drowning died. They are found on the visceral pleura and are about 1 cm in diameter, macroscopically washed out and light reddish. The cause is capillary bleeding.
