Pamodzi Hotels is a public company in Zambia .

The company operates at least one 201-room hotel in Lusaka, which opened in August 1979. To this day it is the only five-star hotel in Zambia. For the first ten years it was run by a British company. In August 1989, the Indian International Hotel Management Service Limited, which operates several other five-star hotels in India, New York and London, took over management and 49 percent of the shares, 51 percent remained with the State of Zambia. In January 2001, Tata International was owned by its subsidiary Tata Zambia Limited and wanted to reorganize this property. That apparently failed because of the Zambian state, which still held 51 percent. In November / December 2001, offers for shares in Pamodzi Hotels were obtained and the company was listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange .

It remains unclear how many houses Pamodzi Hotels operates. Since the IPO, the dividends have been low or entirely because a lot has been renovated. It also remains unclear who became the main shareholder.
