Pan-African Trade Union Confederation

The Pan-African Trade Union Federation (All-African Trade Union Federation, AATUF) is an umbrella organization for African trade unions .

The Pan-African Trade Union Confederation was founded in Casablanca in May 1960 . The idea for this was published at a conference which was opened in Accra in November 1959 by Kwame Nkrumah with the words:

A Trade Union movement in a colonial territory cannot divorce itself from the national struggle for political independence. "

In 1973, the successor organization Organization of African Trade Union Unity was created in Addis Ababa , which also included the rival organization African Trade Union Confederation .
