Panzer Forward is a 1961 American war film directed by Byron Haskin with Howard Keel in the lead role.

action

During the Second World War , American troops advanced into the Vosges . A US patrol finds a wounded woman on a desert road in the mountains and takes her to an abandoned house. The woman, Alexandra, quickly makes herself popular with the weary men and takes a job as a translator for the unit's intelligence service. Alexandra is a spy for the Germans and can thus transmit information to the German command.

The unit's commander, Colonel Devlin, is convinced that enemy forces are in the area, but the US soldiers are unable to find these forces. Only when two German soldiers are captured does it become clear that a large German force is approaching. Alexandra now seems suspicious to Devlin as he tells his men to prepare to defend their positions. When the Germans attack, Alexandra is able to kill two US soldiers with a rifle. Sergeant Mike, who is in love with Alexandra, sees Alexandra kill his supposed rival Skee. Mike shoots Alexandra with a volley from a machine gun. Soon the US force will be reinforced so that Devlin can hold his position.
