Pedra Cuberta

The Dolmen Pedra Cuberta ( German  "stone roof" ) is located in Vimianzo in the parish of Treos, near Arxomil in Galicia in Spain .

The dolmen has a corridor that is more than 6.6 m long and about 1.8 m high. The side stones and the capstone of the chamber are missing. In 1934, the German archaeologist Georg Leisner (1870–1957) found images on the inside of the chamber and on orthostats in the Ganges. The red, black and white drawings show complex shapes with zigzag lines, triangular, and vertical motifs. The III International Symposium in A Coruña 1997 reported on the loss of images. The representations were made on a white layer of paint, probably kaolin, in black and red. Red was made with iron oxides and black with charcoal. They are arranged in three horizontal groups, just like in the Dombate dolmen . At the bottom are two parallel long red waveform profiles that seem to overlap the others. The upper area is separated with a black line. Triangles, wavy lines, zigzag lines, red borders, concentric circles and trapezoids are shown. The decorations cover the entire monument.

In 2011 the dolmen was declared of Cultural Interest.
