The Thurgau Pension Fund (PKTG), based in Kreuzlingen, is an independent Swiss pension fund . It insures the state staff of the canton of Thurgau , the teachers of the Thurgau elementary schools and kindergartens as well as the employees of the employers affiliated to it under the 2nd pillar .

The Thurgau Pension Fund emerged in 2006 from the merger of the Thurgau Teachers' Pension Fund, founded in 1827, and the Thurgau State Staff Pension Fund, founded in 1919, and is an independent public-law institution . At the end of 2008, a total of 9,367 actively insured persons and 2,889 pensioners were affiliated. The investments amounted to around 2 billion Swiss francs.

Legal bases

The legal basis is formed by the Federal Act on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans (BVG) , the Federal Act on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans (Freedom of Movement Act, FZG) , the associated ordinances and the pension fund ordinance of the Grand Council . The legal basis also includes the regulations of the Thurgau Pension Fund.

The Thurgau Pension Fund is administered by the 12-member Pension Fund Commission. This is made up of six employer and six employee representatives and is elected for four years by the 50-person assembly of delegates. The day-to-day operations are managed by the managing director.
